Moonrise Kingdom from Wes Anderson. No surprises; Wes Anderson still got it.

Ivanovo detstvo/Ivan’s Childhood (1962, Andrei Tarkovsky)
The complexly choreographed sequence involving Masha’s encounter with Kholin in the birch forest is one of the most iconic shots in cinema, symbolizing the need for help in hard times, a moment of connection above the void, a desperate act of human contact. The camera tracks their movements at a distance before joining them, finally, in a strange, low-angle embrace over a small trench. The shot begins from a low point of view, and then, when Masha tries to jump over the ditch and is intercepted by Kholin, who holds her in the air and kisses her, the camera goes down below ground level and records the scene from within the ditch, to soon thereafter rise sharply up and continue rolling at eye level with the characters. So… Glasgow is looking rather… um… American this morning. I walked to work through a set for World War Z. Pretty cool. It’s weird seeing the star-spangled banner flying outside of the City Chambers and a Hot Dog vendor outside the war memorial.

First Look At ‘The Walking Dead’ Cast
via kandidkandor > CBR
everything is looking good so far…
a clip from Chris Morris’s debut film ‘Four Lions’, and a ‘jihadist comedy’ to boot. Looking forward to this…

I love the straightforward simplicity of the action in this. Action directors should take note of the use of cgi without multiple fast edits and camera angles to increase the ‘reality’.

saw Groundhog Day again and, while watching, I half-remembered this article, which actually added to my enjoyment of the film.
What if…
Ghostbusters, the movie, was shot in 1954 instead of 1984? Who should be part of the cast? Would they have the same equipment? Who would they battle? Considering Dan Aykroyd’s concept owes a lot to Bob Hope, Abbott and Costello, and Lewis and Martin comedies of the 40s and 50s, it is not that big of a stretch to speculate.
I hope you enjoy this re-imagined concept for Ghostbusters.
Here’s the recipe for the trailer:
Ghostbusters, The Three Stooges, Scared Stiff, Ghost Breakers, Topper Takes a Trip, The Ghost Busters, Abbott and Costello meet the Invisible Man, Star Trek, Ghosts on the Loose, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Spooks Run Wild, Flubber, Son of Flubber, The Caddy, 100 ans d’histoires de Bibendum
